This season’s Jayhawk Basketball team has a lot of brand new faces to the team. They are only returning one sophomore Asa Wyers and Andre Parker is the only Muskegon native on the team. The Jayhawks started the season strong, winning back to back games by over 10 against Grace Bible College JV and Aquinas College JV. Against Grace Bible College, it was Asa Wyers who led the team in scoring with 25 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds. Delvon Brown had a great game being completely efficient by going 7-7 from the field, which included 2-2 outside from the 3 point line. He had 17 points in the Jayhawks season debut. Against Aquinas, Jalin Gross led the way with 24 points. Delvon Brown also had a good scoring game with 19 points.

The Jayhawks forced Aquinas to turn the ball over 13 times which led to points for the Jayhawks. Muskegon Community College hosted the Pepsi Thanksgiving Classic again this year, and the Jayhawks played Alpena Community College and Oakland Community College. The Jayhawks beat Alpena CC 69-55 in a well-deserved win. Their second game of the Pepsi Thanksgiving Classic was lost 83-63 to Oakland CC. The Jayhawks are being coached by Coach Dave Schlump and Assistant Coach Anthony Parker. This year’s team has potential. They are currently 6-3 and are looking pretty good on the court.
